Anna Erath
as Remembered by Rheba Kramer Mitchell
Anna Charlotte Erath called "MaMa (pronounced MawMaw)" by her
grandchildren had beautiful fiery red hair worn in coronet braids or
a bun high on top of her head. She said she never liked the color
because the boys called her "carrots" in school. She had an
aristocratic bearing and stance.
Anna had a real mind for business. She helped run the family store
before and after her father's death. She and William, her husband,
stayed and lived with her widowed mother in the Erath building in
New Iberia.
